In
just a short space of time, Paul Moyse has established himself as
one of the leading caricature artists in the world. As well as his
work featuring regularly in The Weekly Standard and the Radio
Times, his portfolio was voted number one at the ISCA
(International Society of Caricature Artists) convention in Ohio,
2009.
Paul believes in the
importance of originality. He understands that learning good
caricature is more to do with finding your individual voice than
simply being able to draw. Anyone can draw, but with Advanced
Caricature , not only will you learn Paul's techniques and
approaches to caricature, you will be encouraged to express your
own personality through your art.
Sketching is vital to
developing your skills and individuality as an artist, and
therefore sketching will be a big part of this course. Paul
encourages the use of traditional media, pencils, paper, paints,
canvas, to help quickly develop an understanding of your subject.
In taking the online
course, you will be sharing Paul's passion for art and caricature
in one-on-one discussions, video tutorials and online video
critiques of your weekly homework assignments. Each video tutorial
is between 1-2 hours long, and is created using the latest screen
capture software, allowing Paul to show you everything he sees and
draws. You will have full insight into his workspace as he takes
you through every step, from the basics of exaggeration and
structure through to creating finished, fully rendered artwork.
